Chapter 12: Baryx
Jennessa just said something to me, but I canât register her words. My body hums, feeling alive for the first time. Words canât describe what just happened between Jennessa and me. I must have discovered something revolutionary. Jennessa and I were made for each other. Maybe this means The Colony and Earth could have a perfect symbiotic relationship. We didnât just bring each other to our sexual completionâwe invented intergalactic peace, and we saved worlds.
I want to worship this femaleâkiss the ground she walks on for giving me such a gift. I shouldnât be lying here trying to catch my breath and regain my focus, but my body feels too relaxed, and my brain too hazy.
âEarth to Bee!â Jennessa waves her perfect peach hand in front of my face, and Iâm snapped back to reality. I grab her, bringing her hand to my lips and peppering it with kisses. I never want my lips to leave her flesh, and Iâll never be satisfied until Iâve filled her completely with my stinger and my seed, and her belly is full with my offspring. There will be no extracting her embryo and bringing it back to the Colony alone. Sheâs coming with me. There will never be a moment that sheâll leave my side.
I stand up, cupping her hands in mine, leaning in to mate her mouth again.
She pushes me away, and my heart pangs.
âBee, I asked you a question.â
âWhat is it, my sweet?â I ask, reaching for her again.
She backs away. âWhat does pollination mean?
âThis is not a word you have?â
âIt is, but Iâm starting to worry it means something different to me than it does to you.â
âDo not worry. It means to fertilizeâimpregnate. That is all.â I walk toward her, the conversation making my stinger spring back to life.
Her eyes grow wide and she backs away from me. âYou came to Earth to impregnate a woman?â
âYes, that is the mission. My antennas were supposed to indicate a perfect female. My soul was crushed when it wasnât you and I learned something is wrong with you, but I donât care about that. Iâm drawn to you for a reason. You are my perfect match. I can feel it deep within me. I will pollinate you and we will both go back to The Colony with our offspring. I was supposed to extract the embryo from you and leave you here, but Iâm changing the mission. Youâre coming with me.â
âOh my God.â
âAre you not overjoyed?â My antennas pick up her mood. I donât sense an overwhelming feeling of happiness coming from her, and her expression matches.
âBee, what the fuck? You were just going to impregnate me without my consent and steal my baby? Thatâs so fucked up!â
âWell, it was possible that I would impregnate a female without their consent, but once I met you and realized how evolved you were, I would, of course, make sure you agreed. I never would force myself on you. If you agreed to mate with me, I knew you would be willing to have a child.
